Mercedes AIRMATIC Suspension Taking Too Long To Rise
FAULT CODES
DESCRIPTION

Mercedes suspension taking longer than normal to rise? AIRMATIC systems may struggle to build pressure correctly if leaks, compressor issues or valve faults are affecting the air suspension system.

COMMON SYMPTOMS & CAUSES
DIAGNOSTIC INSIGHT

Mercedes AIRMATIC systems continuously monitor suspension pressure, vehicle level readings and compressor operating time.

If the system takes too long to raise the vehicle, the control unit may detect:

  • excessive compressor run time
  • pressure loss
  • suspension leaks
  • incorrect level sensor readings
  • valve block faults

In some cases, the suspension may still operate temporarily while faults remain stored within the control system.

Air leaks within the suspension system can also cause the compressor to operate more frequently than normal, increasing wear on the compressor assembly over time.

Live diagnostic testing is important to confirm whether the issue relates to pressure generation, sensor readings or air loss within the suspension system.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Repeated AIRMATIC compressor operation should not be ignored, as continued operation with leaks or pressure faults may lead to compressor failure.
