Mercedes AdBlue Warning With No Fault Codes
FAULT CODES
DESCRIPTION

Seeing an AdBlue warning but no fault codes are showing? Some Mercedes SCR system faults may remain pending, intermittent or require live diagnostic testing before current fault codes become active

COMMON SYMPTOMS & CAUSES
DIAGNOSTIC INSIGHT

Mercedes SCR systems continuously monitor emissions operation, sensor values and AdBlue system performance during driving conditions.

In some cases, warning messages may appear before permanent fault codes are stored within the engine control unit.

This can happen due to:

  • intermittent NOx sensor faults
  • pending SCR efficiency faults
  • AdBlue level or quality calculation issues
  • communication faults between control modules
  • incomplete adaptation procedures
  • temporary sensor plausibility faults

Standard diagnostic scans may not always display manufacturer-specific pending or stored SCR faults immediately.

Live data analysis and manufacturer-level diagnostics are often required to identify the root cause correctly.

IMPORTANT NOTE

An AdBlue warning without active fault codes does not always mean the system is operating correctly. Mercedes SCR systems may still detect abnormal operating conditions before a permanent fault becomes fully active.
